"But why did you die in the first place?"
Aerith ignored his question.....She didn't want to relive that horrible night.....She looked at the signs that were every where.....Have they really fallen? What was going on.....? She was not ready for this.....She wanted to see Zack's smile more often....Than his sadness or anger....Aerith stopped infront of a store window and looked at a dress.....That was on display....She loved little dresses like this....
"Oh this is beautiful....."
Aerith has no idea that they were being watched........

"Aerith..." Zack hadn't gotten a straight answer, and if there was one thing that frustrated him more than anything was not recieving a clear, defined response to a question. But, Aerith had done this to him before, when she hadn't told him about the fact she was an Ancient. He let it slide for now, making note that he would have to ask her later.
"Remember that dress." He told with her a large smile, saying:
"If you like it, I'll get it for you." Of course, he knew he had no gil whatsoever. He knew that souls vomited from the Lifestream don't get a going away present in the form of gil.
Living was enough.
The train rolled into the station with it's usual gusto, signaling that passengers should get on. Zack took one last look at the posters, then said:
"Lets go to Sector 8. I'm sure they'll need flowers there."
He also wanted to see if Shinra really HAD fallen.
Because if it had
He had some catching up to do

"Aerith..."
Aerith sighed the way he said her name like that...As she didn't turn around to face him....She just looked at the dress in the window...And the price was kinda high as well....$30 gil......But selling flowers would help her pay for it......
"Remember that dress."
"If you like it, I'll get it for you."
Aerith then smiled as she turned around and looked at him finally.....
"Zack...I got you back....That's all I wanted...."
"Lets go to Sector 8. I'm sure they'll need flowers there."
Aerith nodded in agreement.....She knew that he would ask her again eventually about how she died....And why....But she was hoping he would just drop the subject for now.....And she would not ask him how he died.....Not until she was ready to tell him everything.....She knew for a fact that she was the last of her kind now....She had to be....There was no one that knew her like Zack does.....Except how she died.....She will not tell him.....She just can't......

The train ride was a quiet five minutes, Zack taking the liberty of putting his arm around Aerith's seat and giving her a goofy grin, as if saying: "I can actually do this now!" Once the train halted, Zack got out of his seat, helping Aerith up from hers, and walked out onto the platform...
LOVELESS avenue. Still going strong.
LOVELESS again?
Zack took a moment to take in the sights, seeing as the platform overlooked the bustling downtown avenue. It was afternoon, so Zack knew a steady stream of people would be coming in from the other sectors to come home to their families...
Perfect time to sell.
He motioned towards the stairs that led down towards the avenue, saying:
"We can set up somewhere near the center of the avenue." Zack looked over at Aerith with a small smile, asking:
"How does it feel? Pretty cool huh?"

"I can actually do this now!"
Aerith smiled at his actions.....She didn't even push him away...Having his strong arm wrapped around her felt so right.....
"You can do it any time you want...." She blushed as she looked down....Strands of her hair fell over on her cheek....
"We can set up somewhere near the center of the avenue."
As Aerith looked around the Avenue....She noticed that there were more signs....About Loveless....What was that about? She was interested.
"How does it feel? Pretty cool huh?"
"Yeah....It is.....I just hope we make a few bucks for ourselves....We sure do need it...." She said that as she sat up her flowers......

Zack nudged her playfully, saying:
"Watch me. We should be rolling in gil in no time." The young(or not so young, depending on how long it had been since he had set down on Gaia) man watched as the train rolled out of the station. He then said:
"Give it a few minutes. Once the crowd comes back u..." Zack was interrupted by a youngish looking woman standing in front of them. Her eyes were almost shining with glee as she asked:
"Are you..you selling those?"
"Yeah we are! How many you need? We're doin seven gil a pop."
The girl looked at Zack with a mischevious smile, saying:
"Can't afford that much."
"Fine, six."
"Five and a half."
"Five seventy five!"
The girl giggled, saying:
"Deal. I'll take five please." Zack looked over confidently at Aerith, winking.
"Another has come."
"Oh? Does he know?"
"He is on our trail."
"Indeed. Our goons are expendable, so make sure he gets diverted."
"Certainly."

Aerith giggled as she saw what Zack did with the woman. Luck was deffinetly on their side this evening.....After the girl bough five flowers....Aerith's eyes glistened with happiness....As another came up right when the girl was done.....They were making money alright....The cool night breeze landed on Aerith's cheeks and blew her hair slightly.....
"This is amazing Zack....Thank you...." She quickly placed a kiss on his cheek......And smiled back at him after she had done that.....She then looked down and blushed.....Aerith then felt some thing not right in the area....She looked around the busy streets....Searching any thing unusal.....

Zack smiled, folding his arms over his chest after she kissed him, saying as a sort of response:
"Yeah, this isn't half bad is it?" It felt SO good to actually be spending time with her again. He remembered so many times before that they had had only moments together before his phone would ring and take him off to location X to kill uprising Y.
It had to have been at least half an hour and three more customers(flowers WERE popular up here) before Zack noticed that the sun was beginning it's descent. The flow of people coming on and off the train was still as packed as he had remembered it...and yet there was a certain jollity in the air.
SHINRA HAS FALLEN!!!
Was that what people were so excited about? A man approached the couple, asking how much the flowers were. Before Aerith(whom he had let do most of the talking) could respond, Zack asked:
"Hey, what are people so happy about?" The man looked at Zack in astonishment, asking in a sort of teasing tone:
"Have you been under a rock or something kid?" Zack's eyes must have betrayed him, as the man took on a more serious sounding voice, continuing:
"Shinra went down about two week ago. They had been exploiting innocent men and using them in twisted experiments all for the sake of mako and war effort. Now that Shinra is gone, the whole city of Midgar has been waiting for the new group to step up."
He'll make a fine test experiment...
Zack...what did they do to you in there?
"Hey kid... you ok?"
Zack was sweating...again.

Aerith looked up at him....Not knowing that she was still blushing. But even if she knew it. She wouldn't mind him seeing it. He was cute....Even more cute than he was when she first saw him....Then the last bit of flowers were sold.....To a man in a suit looking out fit...Aerith saw the ring.....Obviously the man was married.....Aerith sighed to herself as she looked at the man....He was in love and obviously buying flowers for his girl....Aerith then smiled and said thank you to the man as he went on his merry way......
Aerith then turned her attention back with Zack....He was talking to another person about Shinra...Was it all really true....? As it fallen completely.....? If so....Aerith knew that AVALANCHE would be thrilled to hear this if they haven't already.....Aerith then walked up to Zack....And wrapped her arms around one of his.....
"I think we have some money now....I wanna buy that dress before the store closes....And Zack...I'm glad I'm with you....Hey......Earth to Zack....You okay?" Aerith noticed that he was thinking about some thing.....

Zack shook his head, laughing slightly as he said:
"Yeah...yeah I'm good."
"Sorry if I sent you into shock there bud, but these things happen sometimes."
"Guess they do." And with that, the messenger of change left, leaving Zack a bit frazzled. So it was true then...
Shinra was gone.
That meant SOLDIER was gone.
Wait..then where's Kunsel? And Luxier? And what about the Turks? Shinra had them contracted. Did they just leave?
Too many questions!
Zack looked down to Aerith, who had commented about the dress, the now bewildered young man saying:
"Yeah, go ahead." He now registered the fact that she was holding onto one of his arms, making him crack a small smile. Zack led her to the storefront, noticing the empty basket with a smile.
"We did good today, didn't we? I think the performance deserves a prize." He pointed at the dress, which still stood in the storefront.
"You want me to come in with you?"
(Oh heys, are you and Tifa ready for the big ol thread? Or do you want me to wait a while so you can get Cloud and Tifa and developed?)

"Do you really want to go into a female store? I'll be ok....If I can't handle this....I can't handle anything....Besides...It can't be much different than it was in our time honey....I'll be only a few moments......" Aerith walked into the store.....And bought the dress with her money....And she then have enough left over for a little bit of food tonight.......
"Well....? Do I please you?" She came back out with the new dress on.....

Zack chuckled, saying:
"You look great. Really." He kissed her lightly on the lips, smiling as he asked:
"You want to go down and take a look at LOVELESS avenue? I'm sure the nightlife would be a pretty fun time. It's not a Costa del sol, but it should be something fun." Zack wrapped an arm around the Ancient's waist, now realizing that he had a promise to keep.
"I told you that I would let you in on what had happened those years I was gone if we sold out. Guess you get to hear it all now." His eyes seemed to turn to a stormy dark blue, very different from the bright blue eyes that people were used to seeing. It was as if the mako residing within him betrayed Zack's moods.
"Come on, I'll explain on the way."

Aerith was gifted....But she didn't know how her best friend had died.....She always thought it was Sephiroth....Like her......But she was still scared to Zack the truth.....

As they descended the steps leading down to the avenue, Zack could feel traces of bile of coming into his mouth. He was nervous. The events still made him nervous...
"Four years ago...I don't know if you remember, but I said I was headed away from Midgar and had no idea when I was coming back. That was when I went to Nibelheim with Sephiroth..." That name still made his blood turn cold. He would always remember how Sephiroth, a trusted friend and ally, had burned down the small town of Nibelheim without batting an eye.
"Cloud and I...we were both exhausted from battling Sephiroth, but Cloud had managed to kill him. The next thing I remember, we were being held in tanks filled with mako. And...well, we were able to..Cloud and I mean, we were able to get out of Nibelheim. I hadn't bothered to read any of the journals lying around as we left, so I still don't know what they did to us. I just know that..that I'm not as human as I used to be."
The now even busier LOVELESS avenue was a sight to see: teenagers having fun, young men and women chatting each other up on dates, and the shops that advertised late night hours busy with life. Midgar really had grown.
