Personality:
Zell is impulsive, for lack of a better word. He never thinks things through completely and acts only on the whim of his heart. He only takes in others into consideration after he has already decided to act. However, despite his major flaw, Zell is a kind hearted young man that would risk everything and anything for his friends. He is a force to be reckoned with, and when he is fighting seriously, he is even more so, becoming dangerous when he activated his 'Dual' ability.
Been a young male, he is thrilled by the fight, wanting to find even stronger opponents to bet, to make himself better, and to destroy the “chicken-wuss” mentality that Zell has been living with for so long. He is highly motivated by his grandfather, and lives to the old mans standard, knowing that he needs to improve his SeeD ranking in order to be anything like his grandfather.

History:
Zell’s memory about his past isn’t all that great, he knows that he lived with his adopted parents in Balamb up to the age of 13, where he started to attend Balamb Garden, hoping to follow in his grandfathers footsteps to become the ultimate solider. Which for Zell, was to become the best SeeD member that he could be.
Training in martial arts, Zell felt he would be the perfect candidate for it. Making the list easily for Seed Candidate, it took Zell allot more effort into finally graduating. Zell made it to the top thanks to the help from an odd type of friend, Squall, although not completely friends, Zell trusts Squall with everything.
Four years of training, and finally managing to befriend Squall, Zell graduated from the Garden by completing his given task at Dollet. It was in Dollet where Zell truly learnt to hate Seifer Almasy, his arch rival, a man that constantly attacked Zell’s ego. To some extent, mainly by been the one to give Zell his school nickname of “chicken-wuss”, Seifer caused Zell to be how he is today, hot headed and impulsive. Although young, inexperienced, and been considered hot headed, Zell is a balancing piece when fighting is in order.
Zell soon learnt of his past over his journeys with Squall as a SeeD member, starting with his journey to Timber where he met Rinoa Heartilly . What he learnt over his missions, was that he spent his young in an orphanage along with some of his closest friends, those including Squall, Quistis, Selphie, Irvine and Zell’s arch enemy Seifer. It was here that Zell’s martial arts thirst was created, as well as his hatred for his own personal bully, but even back then, Squall was there, helping out Zell as much as he could.
