~Character Info~
Name: Ffamran mied Bunansa (AKA: Balthier)
Age: 22
World: Ivalice
Gender: Male
Race: Hume (Human)
Job: Sky Pirate
Alignment: Himself. (Or whatever would turn out best for him in the end).
Side: His own. (Aka: Light)
Appearance:
Accessories: Light armour, keys for the Strahl, a box of amusing postcards
iPersonality: Cocky, clever, sometimes self-centered and incredibly charming if he wants to be, Balthier is the 'leading man' of the scene. In terms of being the charmer, it seems Balthier can't help but find himself flirting with any woman he thinks has a pretty face (and sometimes even a not-so pretty face). He does not view girls as innocent, delicate creatures, more a believer of them being most definitely 'the fairer sex' though he likes a girl who can certainly kick ass if she needs to. He finds other people's views on the world amusing, and often likes to behave as if he knows better than most people (he usually does). Usually Balthier has a laid back attitude to things, preferring to just go wherever the skies take him. However, if he so happens to be in the middle of a theft gone awry, he is not always the happiest chap in the sky system and cannot help but be a little annoyed if he doesn't get the treasure he is looking for.
In terms of his relationship with people, due to his self-centered-like attitude, and of course the fact he is a pirate, he often seems rather distanced actually from people, seeming to play out the role he wishes to be rather than actually being said person. However, there are hints of those he truly cares about. He holds a very professional relationship with Fran - however, he cannot help but find himself behaving in a somewhat unprofessional manner from time to time (if she is in danger he most certainly finds his loyalty and friendship with her immediately making him come to the rescue). He also dislikes to see people wasting their abilities or not believing in themselves - of course, none of them could ever be as great as him - yet Balthier whole-heartedly believes that if people have a dream they should stand forward and try to snatch it from the stars themselves. (Even if it means he has to give them a kick up the backside first to make them realise that in the first place).
Weapon: Guns, guns, and more guns.Fomalhaut. Bullets also include: Mud Shot.
Abilities: Quickenings:
Fires of War - Six circular balls of fire surround Balthier while he concentrates on a specified point on the enemy of which to attack. Once this is decided he points to where he wishes the fire to be sent and the shoot out like bullets from around him attacking the enemy in a bright white-like explosion.
Tides of Fate - Summoning water energy in the tip of his finger, Balthier can cause a large amount of water to form around himself an the enemy. This water is rough and treacherous and with one final whistle of his command, Balthier can summon a tidal wave to crash down upon the poor victim below.
Element of Treachery - Calling upon all the elements he can muster, Balthier creates a triangular-like summoning-circle that surrounds himself, bringing upon all the elements in one fierce creation. A huge burning rock of hulking fire cascades down from the sky pummeling into the enemy below.
First Aid: If ever there is a female character in trouble, or low on health, Balthier will come to the rescue and aid them with healing potions.
Steal: Is capable of stealing items off other enemies if he so desires.
Items: First aid kit.
Summons: None.
History: Balthier's history is curious to say the least. He is the third son of the semi-insane Dr. Cid. Being the third son, he was not made a Judge Magister, but served in the Imperial army for a certain amount of time Due to his father's bizarre demise into the world of insanity, Balthier (or Ffamran as he was called then) found himself unable to deal with his relationship with his father any longer. In frustration and annoyance, he found himself leaving his post and running away, stealing a fighter ship to escape and go into hiding. This ship (after being heavily modified by himself) was renamed the Strahl and still serves as Balthier's trusty skycraft. At some point along this time, Balthier and Fran met and their professional (though possibly slightly suspect) relationship began.
Many years later, after Balthier had grown up quite a bit and now fancied himself as quite the ladies, man, he has since become quite the notorious sky pirate (and is proud of it), having tales of him spread about him stealing from Imperial galleons (supposedly) and looting Palace's of royalty! It was among one of these excursions that he came upon the peculiar character of Vaan who was stealing the Goddess' Magicite which he and Fran had intended to steal themselves. He is still not entirely sure what happened (other than his plan had gone awry, much to his annoyance and disappointment) but he ended up not only with a little thief on his ship, but the thief's 'girlfriend' an exiled princess and a so-called 'traitor' Imperial Captain.
What a jolly lot they all were. After going through many adventures, trying to straighten out all the politics between the kingdoms and countries of his world (still always of the opinion that without him the story that they were leading through would mean nothing) it came to a rather abrupt end. With the intention to save Vaan's home city, both he and Fran took over control of the Bahamut, a ship run by the Imperial fleet. They succeeded in flying it away from the city, but were thought by many to have been caught in the sudden explosion from it.
However, a year later, unable to stay quiet any longer, Balthier resurfaced and decided to take back his beloved ship the Strahl once more. Here he and Fran went on many more adventures looting and thieving wherever they could possibly manage.
However, recently, it was discovered that the travel through worlds has become surprisingly easy, and curious for what untold adventures would await them, both Balthier and Fran decided to take a chance and enter these new untold worlds. However - upon realising that these worlds were just as huge and expansive as their own, both Balthier and Fran had decided (for the mean time at least) to separate, and scout out suitable locations to make a heist. Balthier, still upon the Strahl, Fran taking another ship, until they reconvene. However, so far Balthier is unable to stop himself from getting thoughts on stealing from these new places and he comes up with new plans almost immediately with landing.
Since he and Fran separated to travel the worlds, they both occasionally send postcards to each other as their only means of communication - Balthier preferring to send ones with amusing anecdotes on them. Thankfully it seems that inter-world travel has not stopped the post from getting delivered to who it should be and on occasion muses in the fact that he receives less-than-amusing postcards in return from Fran. He hopes to eventually meet up with her again, but so far there are plenty of worlds to visit and more than enough palaces to raid.
Other: Still owns and flies the Strahl from world to world - does NOT like anyone but him flying his ship thank-you very much.
