Kairi smiled once she sawt Riku's expression soften. He was about to say yes when Lightning stepped in and ruined everything before walking out of the shack.
She sighed as she lowered her head "Wait uh" but Lightning already left and Riku followed her. She hesitated for a minute should she follow them then Sora turned to talk to her. His expression quickly changed and it seemed he didn't trust Lightning at all now. Was it because she knew who they all were?
Not only that but Sora also decided to leave her on the island again. "No Sora..." but then he rushed after Riku and Kairi was left there alone to think. For some reason she did trust Lightning and believed her words that she wasn't there to harm any one. Kairi was always able to see the ones with darkness in their hearts and Lightning wasn't one of them that was one reason why she wanted to help.
Soon she followed her friend and stood behind them. "Sora... Riku" She called their names to get their attention she needed to tell them something and hoped that this time they would listen to her.

Lightning stopped and turned to Riku she sighed shaking her head and crossing her arms at his question. "That's just it I can't you think I wanted to come to this world? I was trying to go back to mine by opening a portal but somehow I ended up here." She glanced around the island it was a strange world and completely different from hers.
"Is not that easy with portals Riku you of all people should know that" She said turning her attention back to him "Not ever portal would teleport you to the world you want, especially if there is interference from the other side." Yes she meant the darkness and things were getting worse at least in her world they were. That was the main reason why she needed to hurry back.
Lightning tuned to the other boy Sora as he followed her as well as Kairi. "Do you really think I would ask for help if I didn't already need it? Yes I can easily open another portal but who knows where I might end up next. I already told you that I can't afford to waste anymore time and that it is crucial for me to return." That was the last thing she said and if they were still unsure then she would try to leave without their help.

Sora was backing him up now.
Yes, he was being stubborn, and yes, he would have insisted on his way until the very end, but the moment Sora took to his side, Riku knew he was in the right. Sora, as Riku had found out over the course of time, had a knack for making the right decisions so long as his naivete didn't blind him -- and seriously, there was so much more harm in assuming the stranger had good intentions than not, given the evidence. Which would be worse, mildly pissing off some person they'd likely never see again, or allowing for any of the potential bad endings to happen to any one of them? It wasn't a gamble worth taking if the only thing on the line was some stranger's feelings.
"That's just it, I can't. You think I wanted to come to this world? I was trying to go back to mine by opening a portal but somehow I ended up here."
A likely story, he thought immediately, seeing as he knew from experience how portals worked and didn't work. Now he knew she was trying to deceive them. Maybe she was just getting caught up in the heat of the moment and threw that out to try and calm their nerves, but if that was the case, it backfired. That little lie would only make them more suspicious of her, and...
Wait.
Portals.
Darkness.
"It's not that easy with portals, Riku. You of all people should know that."
His eyes widened. Everything seemed to come to a sudden halt.
Stop the world.
It was one thing for her to know his name. It was very much another for her to know of his past ability to use corridors of darkness. Whatever she said next was all but muted as blood rushed to his ears, veins flooding with adrenaline as his hand clenched around an as-of-yet invisible hilt. He looked absolutely incensed, and for good reason: the immediate answer that logic gave to the questions who is she and how does she know me was the thought that she was either aligned with Organization XIII or Ansem, and given that she professed to be able to use corridors of darkness at will...
She was an enemy. There was no doubt.
"I don't know who you are, but I think it's pretty clear you're not an ally."
Way to the Dawn formed in Riku's hand, and he raised it above his head, poising it as threateningly as a scorpion's stinger; he was done with playing around, with this stranger's taunts and rudeness and absolute refusal to answer his questions, and if she wasn't going to cooperate, neither was he. His free hand went out towards her, open and tingling with energy ready to summon forth a dark aura or a shield, and his whole body tensed in preparation to strike.
He waited for her to pull the trigger.
"Get out."

"It's not that easy with portals, Riku. You of all people should know that."
Sora's heart skipped a beat. This person had to know Riku to know that, there was just no other explanation--and if not, then he had to go to Disney Castle to find the leak. People didn't get to know your entire history just by "asking around."
He turned to look at Riku, gaping a little, and immediately got everything he needed to know from Riku's shocked expression.
"I don't know who you are, but I think it's pretty clear you're not an ally."
Sora jolted a little when he called forth his weapon, knowing it wouldn't be for the best if things came to blows here but just as aware of the fact that his best friend had been pushed to the edge of his temper.
"Get out."
Without having to look, Sora reached up and seized Riku's wrist, clenching hard enough to hurt a little when he very firmly returned it to Riku's side. There would be none of that. Not in these close quarters, not against his best friend, and not on their island. "You're only making things hard for us all, Lightning," he said with a bit of a dark tone to his voice. "You're a complete stranger in our world and we've tried to help, but you won't give us any straight answers and now you're dragging up things none of us want to remember. How would you feel if one of us came into your home and did that to you?"
"Sora...Riku."
With a lot more force than strictly necessary, Sora slammed a hand into the opposite wall to block off Kairi. "No. Stay back. Kairi, this person only seems like a threat. Maybe she's good inside. That's what I'd like to believe," he added, his eyes on Lightning. "But this is a chance we can't take."
He gritted his teeth, letting out a slow breath to try to stem his growing anger with this total stranger who was treating his best friend like nothing. The last thing he wanted to do was bring a fight to his home, but Lightning knew too much and she was being downright boorish. Someone innocent who was genuinely seeking help would probably have been more careful in such unfamiliar territory, and at least been grateful at the prospect of help. All this only set off warning signals, and none of it painted her as someone trustworthy.
Sora had taken all he could take. If things got any worse, they would definitely come to blows, and Lightning might have to be eliminated.
"Please. Go."

Kairi hurried over to her friends and was just in time to see Riku lose his temper and summon his keyblade. "Riku don't" But luckily Sora stopped him before he attacked and she sighed in relief.
"Sora Riku I know..." Kairi was trying to convince her friends to help but just as she took a step forwarded Sora slammed his hand against the wall. She knew he was trying to protect her as always but there wasn't any reason for that here. She trusted Lightning and unlike her friends Kairi didn't see her as a threat.
"No" Kairi said hurrying to stand between her friends and Lightning and grabbed her hands so she wouldn't leave.
"Sora you said you would help... Riku please I know what your two are thinking but I trust Lightning and I want to help." She sighed looking at her friends. How would they react to what she just did? 'Not good' she thought once she saw the look on their faces. This was a first time that Kairi ever did something such as this. Usually she would listen to her friends but after seeing how they reacted she just had to do something.
"I know you don't trust her because she hasn't answered some of our questions but... I am sure she has a good reason for that." Kairi added turning to look at Lightning with her warm smile.
"I want to help come on you two should know how it feels when you can't go home and maybe she is right maybe she can't use a portal right now. I don't think she means us any harm she still hasn't raised her weapon or threatened to hurt us"
Kairi hoped her friends would see things her way. They didn't have to trust Lightning as she did but just agree to help her back to her world.

Lightning didn't flinch when Riku summoned his keyblad and pointed it at her. Was he planning of fighting her? Would he do that if he knew who she was... Even when a keyblade was pointing at her she didn't unleash her weapon.
Lightning wasn't on that island to fight she didn't but none of them seemed to understand. "It seems I am wasting my time here with you" She said turning to walk off but just as she did someone grabbed her hand and she turned to see Kairi.
Was she trying to persuade her friends to help her. She trusted Lightning even when she knew nothing about her. A small smile formed on her lips as Lightning looked at Kairi.
She was about to leave but one she saw what that girl did for her Lightning thought of answering one of their questions. "I am a former soldier... in my world soldiers are required to know everything about other worlds if they wish to travel. I don't know how they obtained the information but I was told about you three. "
Lightning now turned to Riku and Sora. "It seems I was wrong about you two. I thought if I revealed that I knew who you three were and did not attack you would see that I meant you no harm but now I see now I was mistaken."
She didn't expect them to understand. No one did not even in her home. Back home she was seen as an omen, the one who would end the world. She only had a few friends and those were the ones she trusted. One was in danger and that was why Lightning needed to return immediately.

Damnit, Sora...
Riku's arm reluctantly stayed at his side, relaxing after a moment once Sora took the lead. His friend's grip -- unwavering, and so very strong, just like him -- told him all he needed to know, and for a moment there was a flicker of regret in his expression. The last thing he needed to do right now was upset Sora, given everything that'd happened...
But Sora was still on his side, just trying to resolve things his own way -- the pacifistic don't-fight-you-guys kind of way that was so very typical of him. It was childishly idealistic. If Sora didn't have such a knack for making childish idealism work, Riku would probably chide him for it. In reality, he envied his restraint; the way Sora so forcefully cut Kairi off was evidence that he was at the end of his patience as well, and yet he remained unarmed but for his words and resolve. He must have been trying so hard...
It only made Riku's temper flare more when Kairi totally disregarded all of it to take Lightning's side.
"Kai--!!"
Way was up so fast it was a wonder he avoided bashing Sora upside the head with it -- but Riku was frozen with hesitation, wide turquoise eyes watching Kairi with shock. She may as well have run up and grabbed the paws of a grizzly bear.
"I know you don't trust her because she hasn't answered some of our questions but... I am sure she has a good reason for that."
Kairi had to be brainwashed. That was the only explanation. This stranger was doing something to Kairi's head. She wasn't making sense, she wasn't listening to logic, to reason -- but there was nothing Riku could do. Not when she was smiling up at Lightning with that warm, friendly smile of hers -- that smile that should have been reserved only for himself and Sora.
The jealousy cut him more than it did motivate him. His arm lowered slightly, uncertainty scrawling across his expression when the stranger started to spill. He was still very much convinced she was lying -- there was too much wrong with everything she said, and he wanted to rip Kairi's faulty logic apart so bad. Portals didn't work the way they were saying it worked, and just because the stranger hadn't made any ill intentions known didn't mean she didn't harbor them -- in fact, it only made her more deceitful, more dangerous.
But...
Riku bit his lip. He didn't like this. Not one bit. And that much he made known through a simple glance, turning his head to catch Sora's gaze, seeking his input. Deferring to Sora had never let him down before...

Everything in Sora's stomach grew cold when Kairi pushed past him for this complete stranger...someone who was only hurting Riku and ignoring Sora. Everything started to burn inside when she smiled at this person who knew everything about them without having to ask, who wasn't trustworthy, wasn't even kind to them.
Sora didn't notice the fact that Lightning dodged his question, nor really register her comment. He did notice that Riku turned to him for answers, as always, and for the first time, Sora didn't...have any. Kairi was willing to betray them, if it came to that, to help this person...and while Sora could see where he might have done that in the past, it wasn't a habit of his to help someone who wouldn't be civil. Maybe Lightning was honest, and she used the portals like Riku did...but how did she know he used them? Maybe her world was just that good at intelligence, but how could they know any of that without raiding Disney Castle? Maybe she meant them no harm, but then why wouldn't she answer anything without being pushed? Why was she being so harsh to Riku, unless she didn't like him? Why wouldn't she like him when he was only trying to protect his world? Couldn't she understand that? Why didn't she ask for help instead of act like she just merited it?
There were too many questions, and Lightning didn't seem willing to answer any of them. Sora felt anger building up, but it was...hopeless anger. He wanted to hit something that wouldn't break. Tear into a tree or stone that wouldn't fight back. Just fight when there was nothing to fight and no way to win.
Kairi was on this stranger's side. Maybe genuinely. Maybe manipulated. It was happening all over again...
But did I give up when it was Riku in her place?
No, he hadn't. And now he had Riku at his side. His fingers twitched, as though to go for Riku's hand, and then balled into a fist. Then he met Kairi's eyes and forced all the conflicting emotions, all the I'm trying to protect you and why won't you trust me and why are you doing this and you're hurting me into a single word.
"Kairi...?"

What did she just do…? Kairi didn’t expect this reaction from her friends. The look on their faces said it all... Was this because of what she just said? Kairi wouldn’t dream of betrayed either Sora or Riku she didn’t want to hurt them as well. All she wanted was to try and help and she didn’t expect them to react like this.
Kairi’s heart sank "Riku… Sora…" She muttered their names lowering her gaze to the ground. The last thing she wanted was to hurt her best friends who always looked out for her. Was she really doing the wrong thing by believing Lightning words and wanting to help?
She was lost and confused now. Kairi still wanted to help the stranger find her way home but not at the cost of losing her friends. She lifted her gaze to look right at them trying to figure out what to do from here. She was hurting her friends by staying on Lightning’s side. She couldn’t do that not to them "Sora… Riku I didn’t mean to…"

Lightning let out a sighed once she saw those three reactions. Actually she was expecting this after watching them closely, but what she didn’t anticipate was her plan backfiring on her. Even Kairi was hesitant now as she glanced from Lightning to her friends.
Lightning didn’t care though this world meant nothing to her and she couldn’t care one bit if it was destroys. Her only goal now was to return to her own world and regroup with her friends. For now that was enough but soon she would have to decide whether to follow the order she was given and destroy the world, or find another path to walk.
Turning back at the three Lightning shook her head . "I have to say I am quite disappointed in all of you… you have quite the reputation I thought you would live up to them or maybe I expected too much from you three."

[OOC: Permish from Riku to alter post order.]
The combination of anger and hurt turned into something of a tranquilizer to Sora, who couldn't reconcile acting out of pain and was too busy getting his bearings to muster a combative fury. Instead he calmed, trying to analyze the situation. Sora wasn't cunning enough to try to get what he wanted out of manipulation or trickery, but sometimes he could take stock and figure out what needed to be said.
In this case, he took a few steps forward, squared his shoulders, and looked Lightning in the eye. "Our reputations don't matter, so you're not going to get your way by putting us down. There shouldn't even be people out there knowing that much about us. All we want is to be happy together, and we don't need to travel anywhere to do that." He took a breath and for an instant his expression grew heated, but he controlled it. "I've met a lot of different people and I know not everyone is nice, but I would appreciate it if you could treat me and my friends like you'd want us to treat you. We don't have to help you. But it looks like you want off the islands, and I think you've worn out your welcome here, so I'll take you back to your world myself. Riku won't have to deal with it, and." In another step he was between Lightning and Kairi, not pushing roughly but just enough to separate them and feel Kairi at his back.
His eyes narrowed. "I don't want you anywhere near Kairi. Ever. Again."
