((Hey Marlene I decided to make it on the way back to Edge^^ XD))
It was a warm sunny day....And Cloud was heading back to Edge with Marlene. After she spent a week with Barret and the others..Cloud hoped that she had a little fun for a change.....Instead of worrying so much....Cloud even let her sit in front of him as he drove his bike.....He felt it was safer that way....
After a few miles back, Cloud stopped at a gas station....He needed gas...of course....
"Stay on the bike....You want any thing while I'm in the store?" Cloud had hoped that Marlene was still having fun....He wanted to see that smile brighten Marlene's face.....

Marlene nodded with a bright smile as she looked at Cloud "Alright" she said as she sat there to wait for Cloud as he entered the store.
Thanks to him she was having a lot of fun and even got a chance to see Barret and everyone else. Now they were heading back home and Marlene couldn't wait to see Tifa and tell her about everything.

The bar was closed and Tifa had a chance to rest for a few weeks. She closed it ever since the incident with Sephiroth. The bar was a mess and she needed to repair a few things before opening it again. She did get a few complaints from the regular costumers, but Tifa assured them that she will open it again soon once the repairs were done.
Cloud was out with Marlene so she was left to clean the place as usual and do what she could to fix a few things but with everything else she needed Cloud’s help. "Well I guess I will just have to wait till those two come back" She said smiling as she sat on one of the chairs and waited.

"Alright"
Cloud was in the gas station a bit....But he stepped back out...A woman walked up to him with all glee of happiness in her eyes....
Wow...you're Cloud aren't you?"
"That's what they call me....."
"Wow! I can't believe I've met you! You are a hero to a lot of people....."
Cloud was out of place....
"If..I knew I was meeting a fan I'd straighten myself up a bit....."
"Oh! That's alright! You always look good to me!! Well, uh....Good to meet you...."
She backed away nervously.....And rushed away...In a shy way....Cloud looked over at Marlene who was still on the bike....He just gave her a smile.....
"Fans...huh...." He spoke to her....As he walked over to her.....

"That's what they call me....."
"Wow! I can't believe I've met you! You are a hero to a lot of people....."
Marlene turned to look at find a young girl standing near Cloud. She looked excited to meet him as if she has been waiting her whole life to. So that was a fan who looked up to Cloud as many others did. True he was a hero who helped bring peace to the world and stop Sephiroth each time he came back.
"If..I knew I was meeting a fan I'd straighten myself up a bit....."
"Oh! That's alright! You always look good to me!! Well, uh....Good to meet you...."
"Fans...huh...."
She chuckled as she turned to Cloud "Seems like she has a crush on you" She said still smiling broadly. This was a good week for her and even though Marlene was heading back home she was still having fun.

Tifa still waited for Marlene and Cloud to arrive. And slowly she started to worry as she normally did. What if something happened on the way back? Tifa knew that Cloud would protect Marlene if that did happen but still she was worried.
Sighing as she picked up her phone and dialed his number. "Cloud..." Tifa hoped he would answer. Usually Cloud didn't he had a habit of doing that. But now that things were different and they were living together again she hoped he would answer for a change.

"Seems like she has a crush on you"
"Hmm...Seems like it....Come on....You ready to get back home?..." Then his phone rang.....He hesitated at first.....As he reached his arm around to his side to grab it.....But he didn't say any thing yet. And didn't want Marlene to tell him to answer it.....Cloud was always ignoring his calls....But he had to answer this one.....Some one could be in trouble....Which he hoped not....And pulled the cell out of his pocket and flipped it open....
"Cloud..."
"Tifa....Hey...."

"Hmm...Seems like it....Come on....You ready to get back home?..."
Marlene chuckled again with a nod at Cloud. Seeing those fan's was always a good thing though. A lot of people looked up at Cloud as a hero. She knew that he didn't see himself in that way. But with time she hoped Cloud would and finally let go of the past.
His phone then ran and Marlene turned to look at Cloud. would he answer it? She saw him hesitatingly pull out his phone. She was about to say something but decided to wait to see what he will do first.
"Tifa....Hey...."
He answer Cloud was finally changing. Marlene's smile turned into a grin as she sat there. She also knew that Tifa would be worried like her she always worried a lot. But things were fine that day and she hoped she would make it back without running into trouble.

Tifa smiled even brighter once she heard Cloud's voice she didn't really think he would answer his phone but he did and she was glad. "Cloud... well this is a first you never answered your phone before" Tifa chuckled slightingly sitting up straight as she held her phone to the other ear.
"Everything is fine here I am just waiting for you two to come back... it is taking you longer than usual so I was worried."

Cloud gave a big smile....As he heard her voice.....
"Everything is fine here I am just waiting for you two to come back... it is taking you longer than usual so I was worried."
"It's alright...She's okay with me remember....? I can't wait to see you to. I'll bring her home....I promise...."
Cloud looked up at Marlene and smiled at her....It seemed that the girl was still having a good time......Cloud was actually as well....He was acting as a parent would......

Marlene smiled as she looked back at Cloud. She knew it as Tifa now on the phone and she also knew that she called because she was starting to worry. But there was nothing to worry about it was just another peaceful day and its been a while since they seen or heard form Sephiroth. Marlene hoped things would stay like this... at least for now.
She looked up to both Tifa and Cloud not only as parents but also as good friends. With everything that happened she never really had a chance to enjoy her time with them. Cloud was always away because of Sephiroth and Tifa always worried about everything. But that day was different and Marlene hoped it would last.

Tifa's smile brightened. "I know you will protect her Cloud, I am not worried about that... I just wanted to hear your voice again and know that everything is alright." She brushed her hair away from her eyes as she leaned back in her chair. "Just don't take too long... remember I need your help here if we are ever going to reopen the bar"
Tifa hoped that they can repair everything and return the place like it was before. That place was her home now and it meant so much not only to Tifa but also the kids. "Oh and Cloud..." Tifa said snapping out from her thoughts once she remembered she still hand Cloud on the phone.

Cloud could tell that Marlene was having a great time....And he was too...He was showing it as he was making werid faces at Marlene....Not bad though....Just making her laugh....He loved to hear the kids laugh.....And he wanted them happy.....

Cloud stopped making the funny faces to listen to Tifa.....

Marlene couldn't stop laughing at what Cloud was doing even when he stopped to listen to Tifa she continued to laugh. For a few minutes she couldn't stop but then she finally calmed down and her giggles came to an end.
She looked up the road ahead. and gazed into the distance as she thought about Denzel. It has been a while since she saw him and she did start to miss her best friend. He was gone for a few days but Marlene hoped he would come back soon.

Tifa heard Marlene laugh over the phone and smiled. It seemed that those two were having fun. Good they all needed a break from worrying about the darkness and Sephiroth even if it was just one day.
"Oh I was just thinking... sorry about that... anyways won't keep you on long and Cloud thank you... for answering your phone it means alot to me" Tifa was smiling brightly now. Maybe this was a new beginning for all of them.
